Serg's Mexican Restaurant: Manoa Valley

My birthday was a month ago and June has just been swamped, but I didn't want to forget to say something about Serg's Mexican Restaurant in Manoa Valley. It's hard to find really good Mexican food on island, and well, we know where they have been hiding it now. It's outdoor picnic sitting. Green checkered table cloths on wooden benches. Clean. Looks like a converted gas station with a crepes place right next door. You walk up and the menu is simple but filled with delicious Mexican specialties. But with a claim like "Home of the Famous Flautas", how could I have ordered anything else?
Their version of nachos was amazing. It has corn and white Mexican cheese. So Good.
The food was so delicious, that I was eating before I realized I had not photographed this amazing flauta. It really is the best one I have had on island, and many places on the mainland. The beans were perfectly cooked with actual flavor.
They do not sell alcohol because they are next to a school. But she was nice enough to state that Safeway was half a block away, and provide us with cups and ice. Look at ice high class with screw top Sangria (I like this one actually).
Dessert? That was from the Crepe place next door. Yum. That is another posting altogether. Check out Serg's on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Honolulu-HI/Sergs-Mexican-Kitchen/145928741373
